I really should have done so long before this recipe for cherry cobbler. It helps that there are only 3 ingredients in making the delicious dessert.

January is National Slow Cooker Month and what a better way to celebrate it than with something sweet! I am joining several other food bloggers this week to share slow cooker recipes. Be sure to scroll past the recipe to see a list of what we are sharing today! Come back on Wednesday and Friday for even more recipes all using that slow cooker. If you’ve made dump cakes, then this recipe is just the same except you are baking it in your crock pot. 1 box of yellow cake mix, and 1 stick of butter.

Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of your slow cooker. Add the DRY cake mix to the top of the cherries, in an even layer. Cut up a stick of butter and place add to the top of the cake mix, in an even layer. Cover and let cook on high for  2 hours. The cake will be slightly golden brown and the cherries will seep through the cake layer some. You can also use a toothpick to test for doneness, just as you would with a cake in the oven.

Scoop out and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired. Cut butter into slices and add on top of DRY cake mix, in an even layer. Cover and let cook for two hours on high. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired. This week we are celebrating all things slow cooker! We have delicious recipes from across the country to fill your meal plans with delicious slow cooker recipes!

Perfect recipe there Lisa, easy peasy and delicious. I especially like that you can have all the ingredients on hand and that it only takes 2 hours so can be made anytime you get a hankering for a fruity dessert. Don’t forget the ice cream too! So clever Lisa to use cake mix! I love how this recipe only requires 3 ingredients!

Sounds so delicious and even better since it’s made in the crock pot! Thank you for this- I cannot wait to try this. I’ve made apple dump cake before and we loved it. I need to try it in the crockpot, cherry or apple. I like all flavors of dessert. It’s the right thing to do!

I bet nothing can be as simple and easy as this recipe! I would love to have many servings of this! I had no idea this was possible in the slow cooker, but it is delicious! I love the cakey buttery topping with the cherries! Add some crushed pineapple with the cherries and I’m all in! Can this recipe be cooked on slow?

My slow cooker doesn’t have a high setting. I’ve never cooked it on slow but I don’t see why not. It would take a bit longer to bake. I imagine would be just powder.
