Cinnamon apple chips

Tender, slightly tart apples are nestled in-between perfectly sweet, chewy oatmeal cookie dough and baked to cinnamon apple chips golden-brown perfection. There’s nothing quite like a warm, chewy cookie straight out of the oven.

The oatmeal gives them a heartiness that will keep you full, while the apples add a touch of tartness. Salt always enhances all baked goods! Unsalted butter at room temperature is what you need for the perfect chewy cookie. Light brown sugar is what you will need for these.

Vanilla extract enhances the flavor of the cookie. This recipe requires baking soda and an egg for moisture. In fact, they can be baked right away without any chilling. You will also need lemon juice to add flavor and prevent the apples from turning brown.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Flour in a bowl with a whisk and green apples. Brown sugar and butter in a mixing bowl.

Apple oatmeal cookie dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden brown around the edges. Do not overbake or these will be dry, and can burn.
